Potter Minton and Diane DeVasto, of Counsel, were recently honored by Lone Star Legal Aid at a Smith County Bar Foundation meeting for their role in helping the poor obtain legal help.
Potter Minton was honored as the Smith County Law Firm of the Year. Almost all of the Firm’s attorneys participate in the volunteer attorney program, providing free legal assistance through Lone Star Legal Aid.
Judge DeVasto was honored as the Smith County Volunteer Attorney of the Year. She currently assists Lone Star Legal Aid as a pro bono mediator and locates other attorneys willing to represent cases.
Potter Minton is the first large law firm in Smith County to make a firm wide commitment to provide volunteer attorney services to needy Smith County residents referred to them by Lone Star Legal Aid. This is consistent with the Firm’s mission of helping individuals and businesses achieve their goals and solve and prevent problems.
