AUSTIN TX – Michael E. Jones of Tyler has been reappointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve as the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. The TDHCA addresses a broad spectrum of housing and community development issues for rural communities. The agency also oversees titling, licensing, inspection and enforcement of manufactured housing. The board is comprised of seven members. Mr. Jones was previously appointed presiding officer of the Board by President George W. Bush (then Governor of Texas) and has served in this capacity during the Department’s Sunset Review by the Texas Legislature last session.
Michael E. Jones is the managing partner of Potter Minton P. C. law firm in Tyler. He is a board certified civil trial lawyer. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Bar Foundation, American Bar Association and the Smith County Bar Association. He received his bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and his law degree from Baylor University Law School.
