Chief Judge Thad Heartfield recently reappointed John Bufe to serve on the Local Rule Advisory Committee for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Mr. Bufe has been a member of the Committee since June, 2002. The purpose of the Committee is to provide recommendations to the U.S. District Judges throughout the Eastern District concerning needed changes or updates to local rules and procedures such as the electronic filing requirements that are currently being implemented by the Court.
Mr. Bufe is also serving on a subcommittee reviewing the Patent Rules governing patent litigation throughout the District. The Eastern District of Texas includes 43 counties with divisions in Beaumont, Marshall, Sherman, Texarkana, Lufkin, and Tyler.
