On Friday, December 5th, 2014 the holiday season came early to the offices of Potter Minton. In lieu of the annual office holiday party, our Staff unanimously voted to invite everyone in our office to volunteer a full morning’s worth of work towards supporting the East Texas Food Bank. Whilst we were in the middle of a trial and a few of our employees were required to be in court, the remainder of our employees journeyed forth to the food bank.
We were welcomed heartily by Tim Butler, the Volunteer Coordinator at the East Texas Food Bank. After a few instructions, we began the morning events. It became evident that that our spirit of team work most certainly was not restricted to the office. However, the naturally competitive spirit of our employees soon became evident. Invisible lines were drawn in the sand, and the office split into bean packer and rice packers. Dare we say out loud, the rice packers won? Despite the fierce competition, it was our beloved East Texas community that really won. As a result of our combined efforts, 984 pounds of dry goods were packaged. In addition, 1,512 backpacks were put together in support of school age children in our community. It was a great day for all.
