Practice Description
Mr. Simpson handles a wide variety of oil, gas and mineral law matters, including those related to leasing, drilling, production, acquisition and sale of energy related assets. He has represented differing interests in the oil and gas field, which has exposed him to varying perspectives of individuals and entities involved in the industry. Mr. Simpson has been Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of Oil, Gas, and Mineral Law since such Board first recognized attorneys in this field in December, 1986. Now in his fortieth year in practice, Mr. Simpson has represented major oil companies, large and small independents, and individuals, counseling them with respect to energy related issues. Recently, his practice has emphasized complex title work, including drilling, division order, and acquisition title opinions. He also represents clients in general real estate and probate matters, and is an approved title examiner for Stewart Title Guaranty Company.

Personal
Mr. Simpson was born in January of 1954 in South Texas. He married his wife, Sherry, in 1976. They have three children, Benjamin, Nellie, and Walter. Mr. Simpson enjoys fishing, bird hunting, and youth sports.
